Water Safety

Children's Services Council of St. Lucie County is committed to ensuring that children in our community have opportunities to participate in water safety lessons. For more than 10 years, we have partnered with St. Lucie County's Parks and Recreation Aquatics department to offer scholarships to local families looking to provide water safety lessons for their children as well as offering options for children in summer camps.

Additional Resources

No More Under

No More Under is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on water safety awareness and drowning prevention. Their Water Watcher App helps you keep your eyes on the water and not your phone in order to support safe swimming and drowning prevention. After you agree to the critical responsibility of being a water watcher, a timer is set and you can set your phone down, watch the water until the timer goes off. If an emergency arises you are able to call for help or be guided through CPR if necessary. There are resources to guide you through CPR and helpful reminders of the facts and statistics around drowning.

Safe Kids Worldwide

When you think of places where kids are around water, you may think of recreational areas such as pools, lakes and oceans. But have you thought about the areas in your home where kids can get into water? Use these tips for water safety at home, whether your kids are in bathtubs, backyard pools or around buckets.

Pool Safely - Together we can Stop Drowning

To improve pool and spa safety, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) launched Pool Safely: Simple Steps to Save Lives, a national public education campaign to reduce childhood drownings, submersion injuries and entrapments.
